About Us

Heather Zemp

Ms. Heather (director & teacher) has always felt a deep connection to the Earth. She has a degree in Biology Sec Ed and English and taught high school for five years before taking a break to raise her five children. One of the classes she taught was a cross curricular nature-based program called Unified Studies at Orem High. She has recently begun a study of Waldorf Education and has taught classes to children ages 3-7 for the past two years.  She is excited to create this forest school program for her own children and others as well and can’t wait to explore and learn together in the woods.

Miss Heather is also the lead teacher for art classes offered in her home.  Her older children will assist her in these classes.

Amelia Humes

Ms. Amelia (teacher) Has always been inspired by the crucial role nature plays in our lives and the importance it carries in the health and development of  children's minds, bodies, and spirits. She has spent the last 4 years as an assistant in a Waldorf kindergarten and loves being in that type nurturing environment with kids. She loves trail running, herbal medicine making, cooking, self-sufficiency and hopes to soon become a postpartum doula.

Ms. Martha (supervising parent & substituting teacher) loves spending time outside with her daughter.  She has participated in parent-led forest school for many years and is excited to continue attending forest school this year.  Martha is kind, patient, loving, and organized and we are so happy to have her join the team.
